Nerre Shuriah is the Director of Wealth Planning at First Citizens Bank Wealth Management. She has been in the wealth and tax planning field since starting her career as a tax attorney 24 years ago. Nerre was born in London and raised in New York. She earned her law degree from Boston College Law School and a masters in taxation from Boston University School of Law. She is also a Certified Exit Planning Advisor™. Nerre is the mother of a young toddler who is the inspiration for her interest and support of ROCS. In her somewhat obsessive research about of the available schools and methods of teaching in the Raleigh area, she came across ROCS and was intrigued by the Waldorf teaching method. The opportunity to have my daughter and many children in our community learn at the pace that children grow in a format that is appealing and will foster a love of learning and school was too good to pass up. The three parts of the Waldorf method of teaching to the head, the heart and movement means my daughter will be getting inspiration and instruction to build her whole self, rather than just one segment. Nerre is an experienced and passionate speaker and is excited to advocate and present the benefits of Waldorf on ROCS’s behalf.
Roxanne is a mother and wife for her two favorite people in the universe. She is currently the Brand Manager & Storyteller for Brewery Bhavana in downtown Raleigh and came to ROCS after watching her child’s rough transition to traditional kindergarten after two transformative years at a Waldorf-inspired preschool. Roxanne holds an M.Phil. from Cambridge University in England and a B.A. in English from UNC-Chapel Hill, but she is most proud of her son’s home birth, 4 years of breastfeeding, 10 years of marriage, and nearly 20 marathons.
