Hello there, ROCStars!
First, I want to acknowledge that our new families may not be receiving the e-mail they are supposed to receive when a new post is available on the website. It’s in the process of being fixed and if you received this update via e-mail, it is already fixed! If not, thank you for your patience while we get it sorted.
Second, I know we have a lot of questions in our community about volunteering at ROCS. I have compiled what I hope will be a helpful document to answer most of them. It’s available here. Things typically start out slowly on the volunteering front as staff determine how volunteers can be helpful, but they will pick up. Go ahead and get your background checks done so you are ready!
Next, our school is proud of offer Girls on the Run, an after school program for students that identify as girls in grades 3-5. It is coached by current and former ROCS mamas and will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45-5:15 starting next week! If you would like for your student to participate, registration information is available here. Please direct any questions about this program to Site Coordinator Sarah Leehr.
Finally, we will have our first Parent Circle meeting of the year next Tuesday, September 12th at 6:30 pm. We will meet in the Multipurpose/Movement Room. We will attempt to stream the meeting via Google Meet Please note that this will our first time in a new (very large) room and I can’t promise that the audio will be great. We shall do our best.
