Dear ROCS Families,

The end of this school year is within sight, but there’s still plenty happening at ROCS! Here are some updates and reminders of upcoming events:

  • We are still awaiting the final word on the construction detour. An announcement will be made as soon as we have been cleared to resume normal operations.
  • Wednesday 5/22: 8th Grade Presentations. These are the culminating projects for our students’ time at ROCS.
  • Friday 5/24: Early Release at 1:00PM.
  • Friday 5/24 – Friday 6/7: EOG Testing Window – While this state-mandated testing window is ten days long, we will not be in full building-wide testing mode for all of them. We are working to minimize the impact of testing by keeping the number of testing days and hours to a minimum. How many days we test will depend upon how many small groups we will need to accommodate and how make-up tests we will need to administer due to absences. A minimum of 30 minutes of recess are scheduled for every grade, every day during testing.
  • Monday 5/27: Holiday – no school
  • Wednesday 6/5: Field Day, with activities led by our 8th Graders
  • Thursday 6/6: 8th Grade Graduation
  • Friday 6/7: Early Release at 1:00PM and last day of school
  • Saturday 6/8: Groundbreaking Ceremony at our permanent location!

The next three weeks will be busy, but we’ll be finishing the year strong!

Thank you for your support and partnership,

Dr. J
