Hey there, ROCStars!

I hope everyone is having a fantastic first week back!

  1.  School Phone Number Update: The school’s main telephone number has changed for this school year.  Please update your contacts to reflect (919) 322-2615 as the correct number should you need to reach the main office.
  2. Parent Circle Meeting: Our first Parent Circle meeting of the year will be Tuesday, September 12th at 6:30 pm in the Multipurpose/Movement Room at school.  We will also stream the meeting via Google Meet for those who cannot attend in person (link will be shared soon).  There is no fee to join PC and all guardians, parents and grandparents are welcome at meetings, along with staff and administration.  We’ll share information about who we are, what we do, and how you can help.  We hope to see lots of you there!
  3. Teacher Feature: Our specials teachers really live up to their name!  They teach every student in the school (elementary and middle school ages) and share their unique gifts not only in class but also as part of festivals and special events.  Because they serve so many students, they need extra parent support.  Over the next few weeks, we’ll feature each of these awesome staff members and a link to their classroom wishlists.  This month’s featured teacher is Mr. Ben, our Music and Sound teacher!  Mr. Ben delights our students with exploration of music and sound with hands-on experience with real instruments, learning to read music, and introducing a variety of musicians and musical styles.  He currently shares a classroom and needs some parent help with soundproofing materials.  Please see his wishlist here. The sound-dampening curtains are especially needed to divide the classroom.  If you’d like to support Mr. Ben but can’t afford the full cost of a curtain panel, please consider sending a gift card that he can pool and use to purchase what he needs.

Thank you for supporting our staff and our school.  Now pat yourself on the back for getting through first week emotions, surviving a new carpool pattern, and adjusting to a new building.  You’re all awesome.  Have a great weekend!
