Hi there, ROCS Families!

Welcome to October!  In addition to the leaves changing and the weather getting cooler, one of my favorite ROCS Festivals happens this month!  Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a touching and tender way for students to remember loved ones that have passed.  ROCS will celebrate on October 30-31, with families being able to visit on the 30th.  Our Spanish teacher, Tia Roxi puts together a beautiful celebration, but she needs some help gathering supplies!  Please check the signup to see what you can contribute.  These items are needed by Friday, October 13th!  Volunteers will also be needed during Spanish classes in the next few weeks to help students with their contributions to the celebration.

We have an Early Release Potluck for staff happening on Friday, October 13th also!  It’s time to share all your favorite fall goodies with our amazing staff.  Sign up here!

The Board needs a parent volunteer or volunteers!  They will be undertaking a capital campaign to raise $100,000 and need a big, beautiful way to chart their progress.  They would like either a digital or physical tree with acorns to mark various milestones on the way to 100k.  In addition, a parent volunteer is needed to manage this fundraising effort.  This is NOT a Parent Circle project, but will instead be directed by the Board.  If you’re interested in either creating the tree or heading up the fundraising charge, please contact Claire Porter at cporter@raleighoakcharter.org.

Our October Parent Circle meeting will be Tuesday, October 10th at 6:30pm in the Multipurpose Room or via Google Meet.  I hope you’ll join us!
